Chaucer Is a full-grain aniline leather on European hides. Chaucer hides are dyed a light color and then many layers of hand-wiped aniline stains are applied to create a leather that has an old world appeal. The light base gives the leather the depth needed to create this vintage look. Chaucer hides are hand-wiped in Italy using old world techniques. Color variations should be expected from the swatch to the order. No two hides will be exactly the same due to the fact that the leather is created entirely by hand. A clear coat is added for protection. Healed scars, scratches, neck and belly wrinkles will be apparent throughout the leather furniture. Chaucer hides average 55 feet and will fade with prolonged exposure to the sunlight. Chaucer is a great leather for heavily used areas.
